Located in the South African coastal capital of Cape Town, Bennett Contemporary is an innovative and independent gallery showcasing and promoting the work of established and emerging contemporary South African artists.
Since its inception in 2015, Bennett Contemporary has hosted exhibitions in South Africa and abroad has sold works to both local and foreign private and institutional collectors. It’s summer art fair, hosted in Cape Town in the month of November has become a popular event on the art calendar.
The directors of Bennett Contemporary, Arabella Bennett and Kim Robinson bring to bear their strong legal, financial and business skills and so Bennett Contemporary is able to prudently advise corporates and individuals on how to sensibly invest in art and how to enhance their collections for maximum fulfilment and returns.
Bennett Contemporary works with a number of emerging and established local and international artists including Conrad Botes, Kevin Brand, Renée Rossouw, Karlien de Villiers, Michael Amery, Gerhard Human, Sanell Aggenbach, Brett Murray (works on paper), Anton Kannemeyer (works on paper), Marieke Prinsloo-Rowe, Ronel Human, Michele Davidson, Joshua Myles, Haidee Nel and Niel Jonker.
Bennett Contemporary also hosts bespoke art classes which are presented by it’s established artists to a select group of clients, participates in select financial investment events and curates national museum shows.
Bennett Contemporary’s overarching focus is to promote the enjoyment of and investment in South Africa’s contemporary artists.
